For customers:
Are the gift baskets "holy"? Are they blessed?
At this time, the baskets are not blessed, but maybe in the future. The website gets its name from the charity towards churches, not necessarily the content within the baskets ;)
Are the gift baskets kosher?
The gift baskets are not certified kosher. We do try to keep pork products out of the baskets. There is a conscientious effort to keep obvious "treif" items off the website.
Why are most of the churches not verified?
HolyGiftBaskets.com is brand new. We need your help by suggesting us to your church staff!
Do I have to select a church to purchase a gift basket on HolyGiftBaskets.com?
Yes. Also, the church must be verified. All church pages are preview only until verified by the church staff!
How is the donation calculated?
The donation is calculated with an algorithm (roughly 15% of the basket total).
Does HolyGiftBaskets.com profit off of basket sales?
Yes. We make about $2-3 per basket sale. There is actually a lot of work in the processing of orders. We have a lot of work to do to make sure the gift basket orders get processed, fulfilled and delivered! :)
For Churches:
What are the requirements for a church to be on HolyGiftBaskets.com?
A church must be Christian and it must be within the continental United States (no Alaska and Hawaii at this time, sorry).
How can a church verify?
Simply find your church in the directory. On the right side of the page will be a link to "Verify this Church Page".
What is required to verify?
We need some kind of proof of association with you and the church. Our preferable methods are a voided check or a self-addressed stamped envelope. The self-addressed stamped envelope should have a destination address on it associated with the church.
What happens after verification?
After verification, we will send a username and password to our admin panel. In the admin panel, you can edit things like your payment threshold, the contact information, the church bio, and more!
How are donations paid out?
Once a church hits the donation threshold total a payment is released. The default payment threshold is $100 but the threshold can be adjusted by church staff in the admin panel (once verified). As of right now, payments are released via paypal (free) or mailed check ($2.00 service charge).
